When I go for a sail

I usually check the weather - there are seldom conditions when one really cannot go somewhere - even if its only over to Crinan for a change of view for an hour or two. This weather information stuff is really quite useful don't you think - even without subscribing to premium weather sites. So - it ...

Re: Serving

My thinking is that I'll not be allowed in Gods Country for at least 9 weeks from now - so long as there is no 2nd spike. I hope it’s a lot sooner than that...if folk behave it will be. But people are idiots. Selfish idiots. I’m coming to accept the fact that I hate the general public and now need ...

Re: Serving

I have known the Webmeister for a good number of years. During that time I have come to recognise him as a man without devious motives, a stranger to untruths and an all-round good egg. I find your observations to be in poor taste, Sir and would ask that you retract them immediately. Might I also po...

Re: Restart Scottish Sailing Consultation

I can't remember the exact words but the message I took, probably because it was what I wanted it to be, was that travel was allowed but congregating at beauty spots was not. She was advocating common sense with stay at home as the default, social distancing if not. I naturally took the message tha...

Just my sodding luck

3 of us go sailing for a week on Claymore and call it the 'Summer Wine Week' It is normally this week and indeed this ought to be the end of our 2nd day. Looking at the forecast for the week Oban and beyond ought to see real warmth all week and fairly dry Normally it pishes down and blows, the tempe...

Re: holy loch sinking

I think it was a Rib that was speeding up and doon the Clyde today. Furthermore, I believe that Aja was the sinker having turned sniper. His weapon was his trusty 1937 Lee Enfield 303 with telescope which he rested between the castellated blocks up on his battlement. It was a tricky shot as he had t...

Re: Restart Scottish Sailing Consultation

I am firmly with the Poster who suggested just getting on with the Lockdown and protecting the NHS. If I don't get on the boat this year so be it - hopefully I will live to sail again next year. I cannot think of a more selfish way of behaving than to drive up from where we live -(Nr Fleetwood) just...

Re: Gentleman's Cruise 2020 - Virtual Edition

Typical Webby that - sets something up then just does one and we never see or hear from him. Shuggy was the worse for Drink and being a delicate young flower - he is probably resting up somewhere and poring over the finer details of a manual for his latest bit of kit - think it is the autopilot at t...
