Re: Bags of spanners

A friend of mine, unlucky in his choices where love is concerned, referred to his first wife as having a face like a bag of spanners.
The second one, he said, had a face like a hard winter.
He thinks the one he is with now is a daft as a box of frogs....

Blowing Old Boots

Apparently comes from the Baltic where old boats are left to rot in the tideless waters. On Dark and Stormy nights, they would sometimes break free from their moorings and then the locals would say that it was 'Blowing old Boots' which is the Germanic word for Boats of course - as in Das Boot. Re: Cuan against the wind

From memory - someone asked whether it would be preferable to nip through Cuan when heading Oban -ish if it was blowing a bit from Easdale direction. Re: We seem to have a new participant

This is a long shot but I was very fond of a Shirley in the late 1960's - no names, no packdrill.
I must say - she was no pedant, quite the opposite in fact.
Shirley there must be more than one Shirley?

I like the idea of a biskwit barrel mounted dashcam.
