Re: Gentleman's Cruise 2020 - Virtual Edition

Typical Webby that - sets something up then just does one and we never see or hear from him. Shuggy was the worse for Drink and being a delicate young flower - he is probably resting up somewhere and poring over the finer details of a manual for his latest bit of kit - think it is the autopilot at t...

Re: Gentleman's Cruise 2020 - Virtual Edition

Anyway we now have the big black and yellow jobbie which makes life much more straightforward. ETA 17:00 at Bunnyhaven but I ...

Re: Gentleman's Cruise 2020 - Virtual Edition

Tobers looked very inviting when we were passing - the breeze is right on the nose and Coll just looks to be an hour or two of grunt away so - decisions. I am tempted to turn back and head up to Salen in Sunart for a few scoops in the pub - surely they can't be locked down? Conscience demands that w...

Shuggy - that was a great night - my whit a capacity fer ma whishky ye have! Webster - I was looking at last year's logbook and it always takes me about 6 hours to get from Ardfern to Lochaline but as I said, because we left it a bit later than we should, I missed the tide by Duart so it was that la...

Re: Gentleman's Cruise 2020 - Virtual Edition

Well, I have to say we ran out of fair tide before we got to Duart so it was a fair old slog up into Loch Aline. Anyway we got about 6 ish and had a shower - they really are the business. Had a meal on board and deliberating whether to wander up to the Pub or sit and get pished here waiting for Nick...

Re: Gentleman's Cruise 2020 - Virtual Edition

Spent the night behind Holy Isle and will round the MoK this evening ~18.00 when the tide is good and probably overnight in Ardminish Bay. Gie's a clue where you are heading so I can choose Sound of Islay or Luing tomorrow morning. If you go through Islay Sound and overnight in Colonsay Saturday Th...

Re: Gentleman's Cruise 2020 - Virtual Edition

Excellent idea Nick. 13:20 you say for HW Oban? I think perhaps getting to Lochaline tomorrow then - will we aim to be at Pladda by 11 ish? - I know we will be pushing the tide around Duart but Wully's heed needs looking after and I'll never get Para up before 8. Who else is signing up? Perhaps as w...

Re: Fixing a hole in a boat

Impossible, I'd be needing such a large hole in order to be able to fit the recommended plug, the boat wid sink too quickly before I'd applied the appendage
