Went clockwise round Luing. We had a couple of friends with us so went round Easdale and through the sound for sightseeing purposes.

sailing

Just had a great day circumnavigating Luing - good easterly. Only had to motor through Easdale Sound and Cuan due to headwinds.

Skipper got the tides just right!

Supper in the T&T with a pint or two.

Wonderful day.

Totally agree with Silkie - plenty of petrol in Oban with no silly queues.

Not sure about Tim but HTS is coming along as far as we know ( I'm not sure if she has asked permission).

Glad to see someone has taken over the mantle of cruise director.

re y10

Took the good advice of Ash and tested on the transom. All was well, so proceeded to work over the whole hull and must report there were no ill effects to the waterline paint or the antifoul. Maybe I was just lucky.

Job done

Y10 application

Does this react with the trilux we have just painted the stripe with?

We must get it done in the next couple of days - weather, hopefully, permitting.

the launching of silkie

Just had the honour this afternoon of watching the launch of the great and good SILKIE.

All went smoothly - even the skipper. Unfortunately I did not have a camera with me to record this occasion.

Have you tried tins of Grant's Haggis? Very filling, warming, tasty ( if you like that sort of thing) and very quick to heat up. Can be served with tinned carrots, tinned or fresh potatoes - also very good with the old baked beans. Try it!

I was lucky growing up in aberdeenshire

So was I - not in your neck of the woods. Still have family over there - we are now in the West. Wouldn't have a yacht based over there - not enough places to go.

chicken out

Watched all the programs - did know what actually went on - but watched anyway.

Result of the series seems to have been a huge hike in the prices of free range chickens in the Almighty Tesco.

Wish we had room to grow our own.
