The book might be good, but the website doesn't really give much to go on.

Send me a review copy and I'll put a review on the site .

Origo Stove Fuel

I've become a fan of Origo stoves. On a recent trip from Sweden to W. Scotland we originally burnt light or non-coloured fuel bought in Scandinavia which was relatively sweet-smelling and burnt with a blue flame. When this ran out on the Scottish leg of the trip we purchased purple meths from B&...

Anchors - Genuine Bruce vs Bruce-type vs Spade . .

There's a price differential of up to 400% between genuine Bruce anchors and copies of the same weight.

And . . . is the Spade better, and if so, who sells it in the UK and does it fit on a normal bow roller?

Jackstays - the ultimate solution?

Stainless wire rolls underfoot, webbing is flat but rots and can't be trusted unless you take it in all the time. Why not get webbing double the width you need, wrap it round your stainless wire and sew it up double with the wire encased inside. A bit more work with the sewing machine would ensure ...

This section is purely for selling gear - any yachts for sale should be advertised in the (free) classifieds section of the site. You can use this forum to advertise tenders, dinghies etc. though. We've changed the graphics and colours a little bit - let us know what you think. Is the new look better, or do you miss the old logo?

Please also let us know if you come across any bits of the site that are not working properly.

Albin Vega

The Vega is a long-keeled, narrow-beamed 27ft Swedish design with its roots in the Folkboat. Well over 3,000 Vegas were built in a production run that extended more than a decade, and thousands of them are still sailing all over the world. Although originally designed as a relatively lightweight cru...

Not another yachting forum . . .

The old bulletin board here has been going for nearly a year and has not been heavily used - so why replace it with this snazzy new PHP/MySQL powered system? Well, because I wanted to . . . but also because there seemed to be a few escapees from the YBW forums looking for somewhere they felt was les...
