Progress

Great to hear you're at last getting closer to, rather than further from, being on the water. Hopefully expenditure estimates should now have levelled out? Have you decided yet which way you're headed for the season? PS - My advert above hasn't elicited any responses yet so I don't think I'll bother...

Necessity is the mother..

It's a case of needs must. If no-one wants to sail with me then I'll just have to do it by myself. Perhaps I should try improving my personal hygiene? I've been looking at crewing websites recently (there are a quite a few folk signed up to Find a Crew but it's remarkable how few people just want to...

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

I composed a long and witty reply to this post Of course, we've only got your word for this. . . . too busy sewing mainsails New mainsail fund suffered a setback? No sailing for me either this weekend - perhaps just as well given the forecast winds - wouldn't want to destroy my new-found sin...

I recently sailed on a boat with a chart plotter (Navman 5500) for the first time on a four day cruise and was very impressed with the functionality. This probably isn't saying a lot since, as a handheld GPS user (Garmin 72) exposed to this technology for the first time I'm sure I would have been im...

I go away for a few days and it's like Sleepy Hollow 'round here! Even my latest blog entry is more interesting than this! :P

Re: Clickable links opening in new windae

Requires going into HTML view in the editor and adding "TARGET="_new" to the <A HREF> statement. e.g. <A href="http://www.keelhaul.demon.co.uk/pics/mull2.jpg"> needs to be changed to <A href="http://www.keelhaul.demon.co.uk/pics/mull2.jpg" TARGET="_new"> Have a go and let me know if it works. Perfe...

Sorreee!

Thanks Nick - all sorted now. You did me a favour really since one of the things that was annoying me about the Chentleman's Cruise report was the different sized photies but I couldn't be bothered to sort it! Just one other little thing... Is it possible to set clickable links to open in a new wind...

Dumb Dumber and Dumbest

Have to agree they seemed to have managed to dumb down the already dumbed down. I'd suggest starting a campaign to bring back isobars and fronts but I suspect it'd be a futile exercise. They do still do an in-depth Weatherview (I hope?) but this is screened at apparently random times in the early ho...

Temporary Trouserlessness

I would just like to point out to any casual readers of the sloppy prose of the previous posts in this thread that I was not repeat not the chentleman who was momentarily trouserless on a table-top in the House of Trousers.

I was in fact, as always, the very soul of decorum.

Break a few rules

Go on Gigi - live dangerously - you know you want to really! Now that Nick has whetted my appetite I'm not sure if I can survive without being able to read at least selected highlights of your libellous blog. Perhaps you could allow bona fide regulars to read it on receipt of notarised affidavits gu...
