I suspect the reason is that with just the genoa up the shape is better and the leading edge cleaner than with 2 sails up where both will be reefed to reduce the sail area? THe only issue , I believe, is that this can cause the mast to pant in heavy weather with potential stress issues. I'm thinking...

I like that piccie, captures a certain ambience, good that you can leave Dave and Dunald trailing in yer wake especially when they are motoring! I'll see if i can dig the photo oot!

I agree. A thick layer of mud, grime and isects protects the paintwork so when you come to flog it, it looks like new ;-)

Not just a Clyde Phenomenomm seems to happen everywhere, Nick (with his aviation weather knowledge) once explained it to me as being a ground effect thing as the sun disappears. He'll be able to explain it a lot better than me

Another year already! Apologies, cannie make it this year, I've got to get the new boat to Falmouth and as I'm still suffering with prostatitis I rather suspect that imbibing the necessary vast quantities of ale might put me back in hospital! .
