Re: Flu

When I got my shingles jag I was advised it cost £200 - not sure that is cost effective for coffin dodgers.

Re: Flu

I had the jab for the first time last autumn, after being encouraged to for a couple of years by the medics. I've had the worst winter I can remember. Two separate bouts of flu (fever, cough, diahorrea, congestion and all over aching) and we're not even at the end of February! I'll be pretty reluct...

The post was in response to a Beeb news item of school kids marauding round the west trying to persuade cafe owners and the like to dispense with plastic straws in an effort to save the planet.

Pesky Kids!

Now they are trying to stop me lubricating my Vulva stern gland by advocating the banning of plastic straws.

Re: Beeb Forecast

The good ship Marisca has circumnavigated Scotland albeit via the Clyde/Carron ditch, the Crinan and the Caledonian. I was expecting a wee mention in the New Year's honours but not a peep. Yon Chichester got a knighthood for not much more!

Re: Gael Force own brand anti fouling paint

I used it 2 years ago - went back to the ludicrously expensive Hempel Ocean Performer last year and will be spending on it again this year. I definitely needed a mid season scrub with the Gael Force, only a wee bit slime after 9 months with the liquid gold. Of course if you intend to take part in an...

Re: The needs are drawing in

Missing a Navik may not have been a bad thing. Another Contessa 32 had one and the water vane attachment was not up to the job. The Navik on Fairwids steered her several thousand miles back in 2006/2007 , though it has only done a N Sea crossing and a couple of Minch crossings since then. Told you ...

Scottish Islands Peaks Race

Race entry is now open for that iconic tour round the west coast in May. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it is a wee cruise that mixes sailing and running, usually 3 sailors and 2 runners per boat, that starts in Oban and ends in Troon having sent the runners over Ben More (the Mull yin), ...

I'm surprised the delectable Dr Liz has not volunteered Pilgrim for the trip. And then there's Ken who must be kicking himself that he no longer has the Green Behemoth.

Did it last year and that'll last me for more than quite a while. You do know your bus pass doesn't work down there?

The fish farm to the north's rotating feeder squeaks annoyingly. Eddy up the west side on the ebb.
