Re: Marisca

According to my seaweed this was the last day of sun and warmth before the snows come. Mostly drifting with the tide with a wee bit of sailing and more motoring. Lovely day!

World Cup

Glad that's over. Played hell with my internal clock. Never got used to watching games totally sober with a full day still to come. Were the English as disrespectful with their medals as I thought? Seemed awfy churlish.

Oh aye, but usually to people I don't want to talk to from safely inside a pocket. Sometimes it even lets me answer a call before switching to voice mail, but not often.

Stupid Mobile Phone

I have invested my OAP into a Pelagic Autotiller all the way frae California. It's a clever beastie with gyros and compasses and goodness knows what else. The colonials (ex-Spanish?) have released a new software issue and I was cleverly recalibrating its compass on my desk. What I needed was magneti...

Re: Am I allowed to luff?

I have always found Western Ferries to be considerate and their stately washless motion is a huge contrast to the tsunamis that follow the Argyll Ferries. But then I didn't park in front of them :D

Am I allowed to luff?

Motoring back to JWD last night the Ali Cat was approaching from behind as I neared Kempock Point. Having explained to my novice crew that "overtaking boat keeps clear" and that I was maintaining my course and speed to avoid confusing the driver, the ferry aimed for my stern and squeezed t...

Apparently "they" listen to me! A nuke sub came up the Clyde with only one Modplod boat as guardian. Are the rest off to the middle East?

Gourock. Bus to Buchanan St, next stance is for Gourock, takes ~2 hours. Or ~1.5 hours by car.
