Re: Nice night

I know that it's an old thread but "is the TnT doing food yet"? Looking at visiting Friday.

Re: AIS / RADAR

I call myself a fair weather sailor but have been caught out in crap visibility a couple of times. A good plotter is OK to tell you where you are. I fitted an AIS so I know where CalMac are, and the other big annoying people. Not really bothered about other yachts which may or may not bounce off wit...

Re: Chents Cruise

It's a bit late for the May Day Bank Holiday.
Let me know where and when and I'll make an effort to get there.

Re: I never realised

I really don't know what all the bother is about. I have been in and out of Oban North Channel several times over the last several years and not had any problem. OK I have listened to the VHF for a bit before casting off from where ever, and set off in the knowledge that I had a good time to escape...

Re: LED Flares

I gave in a couple of years ago and started buying MnS 36" 29" keks, but need a belt. The 34" jobbies are a bit snug and I keep loosing the button. I'm going to be walking round in my undercrackers if I can't resolve this dilemma.

Have you not looked at the sailing directions? There are rocks all over.

Re: Cleit cardinal and Claymore's Rock

I think it would be nice if they asked me if it was ok to put a cardinal mark on my rock....... I wish the Seil shoreline was in the pic then I could see the relative position of the rock. From what I remember of the place, the shore is just out of frame to the left? I normally avoid the hidd...

Re: Feck me it's windy

I only pegged out the pillow cases this morning, too windy for the bottom sheet and it's not got reefing points.

Re: New anchor chain and stuff.

But it's such a bleeding faff, can't I just get some chain and research a windlass later? The ones I have looked at don't say owt about uppy downy buttons, they look like optional extras. I liked the hand jobie on a curly wire we had on the Sailing Holidays boat. Are foot buttons good or is there a ...

New anchor chain and stuff.

The anchor chain on Seminole is rusty, certainly the end 10-20 meters so I'm wondering about replacing it. I don't know the history of the chain so it could be the original 1982 stuff which on a Jeanneau could be metric or imperial? I have looked at the gypsy on the manual S/L windlass and can't fin...
