Re: Loch Teacups
There is a proposal to ban anchoring in Loch T. It has not happened yet. Marine Scotland, in partnership with SNH, are running some drop in events ahead of the February 2 deadline for comments from the public. The Oban event is on Wed 10th Dec in the Coran Halls between 3pm -9pm. It looks as though ...

Re: 40 meters 8mm anchor chain
Arghiro I suspect you are right about the transport cost. It is probably more a bargain for someone local to Glasgow as they could either collect from Campsie Glen or I could put it into the back of the car and take it into the centre of Glasgow on a weekday. I have had a close look at the chain and...

10mm short link anchor chain
I am looking for about 20m of 10mm short link chain to act as secondary or kedge system when attached to suitable warp. Does anyone have such a length of chain lurking about? As you can see in the for sale section I have 40m of 8mm chain available now.
Happy new year

40 meters 8mm anchor chain
Having changed my main anchor system last year to 10mm chain I have decided to increase the size of my spare chain so have this 40m 8mm for sale. It is at home in Campsie Glen now. Short link, suitable for Lofrans or equivalent. I would be happy to swap it for 20m or so of 10mm or for a small wad of...

Re: Being Serious for Once
There is a new charity called Sustainable Inshore Fisheries Trust that has the aim of reimposing area bans on shellfish trawling. It's first campaign is the Firth of Clyde and you can find out more on their website: http://www.sift-uk.org

Baked diesel
I realise that a tiny seep from one fuel injection nut has allowed a shiny tar deposit to build up on my engine block. I should have picked this up earlier but it is dark in there. The deposit is hard and quite difficult to get at. Can anyone recommend a good way to clean it off or should I just pai...

Re: West Highland Line
Twice now we have been able to flag down the Jacobite train at Arisaig and hop on for just the section up to Mallaig and back. The staff on the train were delightful, the fare was duly adjusted and the hour or so that you get at Mallaig was about the right length of time. This train runs until Octob...

Re: 60m 8mm anchor chain
Angus, Thanks for your offer. I do not want to reduce the chain length as the full 60m might be useful for someone. It is a continuous 60m length of galvanized 8mm chain which has synchronized perfectly with my Lofrans windlass.
As to the weather I hope you have a great fortnight.

60m 8mm anchor chain
Having switched to 10mm chain, I have a 60m length of 8mm chain looking for a new home. At present it is sitting in my garage near Campsie Glen north of Glasgow. If you are willing to collect it I will be pleased to consider any sensible offers.
Thanks
