Re: Gael Force own brand anti fouling paint

I wonder who makes Gale Force's brew? I don't think its Flag, the brand we bulk bought. Contender had that Flag Blue on it last year and despite being quite close to Marisca on a mooring, didn't have more than a wee bit slime at year end on haul-out. In fact there was more above the waterline from t...

Re: Flu

Didn't know you could get a shingles jag. Related to chickenpox or summat isn't it?

Re: Flu

That guy at the WHO, is probably a doctor (of medicine).

Re: Flu

Perhaps I should have for the syringe to be held upside down?

Or had the jab in the under-arm?

Or the nether regions?

Re: Flu

I had the jab for the first time last autumn, after being encouraged to for a couple of years by the medics. I've had the worst winter I can remember. Two separate bouts of flu (fever, cough, diahorrea, congestion and all over aching) and we're not even at the end of February! I'll be pretty relucta...

Re: Pesky Kids!

I installed a permanent catheter to my gland, and can pump in lubricant whenever I feel the need. Modified a vintage grease gun to help with pumping.

Re: South and west of Islay?

I was heading to the Clyde one year, single handed and decided to round Islay to the west side. Wind was about F5, from SW, and I'd come from Scalasaig, Colonsay. I'd not been this way before, and thought to go into Port Ellen, overnight there and continue on toward MoK. As I tacked through between ...

Re: The needs are drawing in

Nick,

when you get it, send it to me, and it's possible I might be able to help.
And next time I'm in the otter pool, I'll come over the hill thirsty!

Re: Tip For Running Cables In Tight Spaces

I once used a tape measure from which the end stop had fallen off. Drilled a hole in end and attached a hook. Found it goes round bends really well, until I had one that went two directions 90 degrees apart! It only went on 2 dimensions not three!

Re: The needs are drawing in

I have instruments (GPS and AIS) feeding into a box with a Bluetooth transmitter (home made). This squirts it out to any Bluetooth receiver device (which could include iPad if I had one). It's certainly available to an android pad, and a phone. There's likely some commercially available equivalent.
