Re: Tunnocks Flotilla May 2nd 2020

Any suggestions from those on this learned forum of respectably behaved mariners, on the attractiveness of this event?

Re: Tunnocks Flotilla May 2nd 2020

You would not imagine the wrangling that went on over that wording, "...suggested minimum...". !

There's an important word that some penniless pensioners might miss... "suggested".

Re: Drinks

I had 12th in my diary. Is it now changed? 10th? I'll be in Aberdeen all day, probably can't make that day.

Re: Another Dilemma

I've pondered that dilemma too, even if you are a few years ahead of me in the actuarial calculations! £1100 to buy new and lasts say 11 years. Service at 3 years first 6 years then annual after? That's perhaps 7 or 8 services in 11 years. £1100 + £310 x 8 = £3580. Over 11 years =£325/yr Could join ...

Re: Anti-fouling - bulk purchase again anyone?

The AF paint has arrived.
I'll email those that I have emails for to ask where and when you'd like to collect.
Remember possibilities include G672JH, EH48 3.. and IV30 6FG and maybe more possibilities (my boat is in Silvers yard Rosneath, so I go there sometimes).

Re: Twazzock frosting

I've only noticed Twazzocks frosting up when it's any of the following:
Dreich, oorlich, Baltic, Jeelit, Findrikin or Snell.

By the time its Unbrak, then the twazzocks come richt agin, back to being pure ordinary edjits.

Re: Anti-fouling - bulk purchase again anyone?

About to place the order for this paint.
It's going to be £28 per can for cruising grade (choice of colours) and ££53 for performance (hard racing type)
If you want to back out, now's the time to do it.
If you want to join in, hurry up and let me know (preferably email as first post)

Re: Anti-fouling - bulk purchase again anyone?

The chances are now good. Took a while to get a reasonable list of participants. I hope to do it pre Christmas, hopefully during November. I'll be emailing participants soon with details. (It's more positive to deal with each by email that wonder if someone read a post in the way you might have wond...

Re: Am I allowed to luff?

Quite right about the wake. Those hulls must be made to go faster or something, but the Calmac babies (ex Argyll Ferries) are ridiculous. Western seem much more business-like.
