Re: Success in Tobermory

There's no longer a pool table in the Kames, let alone a proper bar. The Kames has positioned itself as a restaurant with bar, leaving the drinking to be done in either the Shinty Bar or the Tighnabruaich Hotel.

The Royal Hotel's Shinty Bar has been the traditional howf for the Shinty.

I've got two 50w flexible solar panels. Been on the boat for, I think, five years. Got them from Photonic Universe who still have a good reputation.

Kyles shinty men always drink in the Shinty Bar. The kids may go to the Kames.

Re: Diesel runaway

This also happened to me on a friend's boat fitted with a Yanmar YSM12 which has a horizontal cylinder. We were motorsailing through the Narrows at the top of the Kyles of Bute with the main up. It was a bit gusty and got hit by a gust. Before we could dump the main the boat heeled over considerably...

Re: Stern chainplate rebuild - thoughts?

Too late to suggest a split backstay? Forget everything that exists and place a couple of chainplates where it suits.
