Re: Where is it?

SW corner of Ardnamurchan?

Having now looked up Fladda-chuain, clearly not.

How about Garbh Eilean, Shiants?

Re: Marina Pods – the innovation that gives you access to renewable energy on the water

Just been given rather short shrift by the 'Management' who were quick to defend their "wave screen" Ah well - perhaps we should get one installed in Pullers to complement the existing pontoon structures that are in place? Don't start giving ideas to money grabbing capitalists. We don't n...

Re: Review of 2018

2018 started well for me, with lots of wee jobs that have niggled for years finally getting completed. The summer cruise was good in decent weather, with the highlight being rounding Barra head and the western bird cliffs of Pabbay and Mingulay. Then I managed to set the boat on fire. :( The replace...

Delighted to read this. Bob provides an excellent service for very little cash. A sight more deserving than many.

Coincidentally, there's a revived thread about the Seastream 34 on Scuttlebutt.

Thanks for that. I've now read it (it's months since I was last on Scuttlebutt) and left a comment.

I've been away for a couple of days, but have now voted: available any night, but would really urge against choosing Friday, and even Thursday might be quite busy.

Could people make Tue 11? Earlier in the week is likely to be quieter than later.

He's also the new owner of Avilion. I know, I was on board her three weeks ago. All the whisky had been removed! What's the new boat going to be, Dave? Yes, I carefully tidied away all my stuff (including the whisky). It took 6 car trips, and I'm still cleaning smoke damage off things. Down to only...

Re: Any news from the west?

To add to the above: Lochboisdale has a new harbour on the south side of the loch with pontoons, electricity and water on pontoons. Shower block with free showers and laundry facilities*. All included in berthing charge. Only drawback is the 1 mile walk to the pub. * In July the free facilities were...

Re: DSC alerts today.

Motoring past Ardmore today I got regular DSC alerts for something 30 odd miles away bearing 017 degrees. Stornoway were discussing a boat on a rock, no immediate peril but another yacht stood by until Oban Lifeboat got there. After the fourth alert I got the chart out to see where the lat and long...

Re: Flu

I had a flu jag for the first time this winter, since I'm now officially an auld blimey. I was also given a pneumonia jag, which is apparently a one off. No flu so far (fingers firmly crossed).

"Blimey" wasn't my choice of word.
