Pretty quiet at the end of October, and the weather is still mostly lovely.

He's also the new owner of Avilion. I know, I was on board her three weeks ago. All the whisky had been removed! What's the new boat going to be, Dave? Yes, I carefully tidied away all my stuff (including the whisky). It took 6 car trips, and I'm still cleaning smoke damage off things. Down to only...

Darren Taylor Yacht Repairs

Many of you probably already know Darren. He's a wiz with fibreglass or wood, so if you need any work done give him a buzz. He's got a website at https://mainsail-marine.co.uk with pix of some of the work he has done, and there are also some interesting boats for sale on it. http://mainsail-marine.c...

Furious at not having discovered the Ionian and the Peleponese earlier before I got so old.

Just had a week as a guest on a 46ft Bav followed by a week skippering a Sun Od 33

Not just the best holiday I have ever had, but the best by a considerable margin. Will post some photos later.

Never thought Caolas Scalpay was a breathing problem until this August, when we had to hang onto the 3rd reef to point high enough to scrape through, dropping the main completely and proceeding to Portree under a scrap of genoa thereafter.

I've no current use for sailscotland.net but have just inadvertently registered it for another year.

£50 to transfer it to anyone who can use it.

Re: Well my Buckos

Depression can take many forms don't you think? Well, after a pleasant if Autumnal weekend jaunt to Craighouse for the Jura Music Festival on the good ship Fairwinds we are off to Greece in a fortnight for a week's cruise with Ocklepoint. https://sailingreece.co.uk/oddessy-2/ . . . then it is back ...

Jura Music Festival

On average this is visited by Fairwinds one year in five. Turns out 2018 was one of those years. Wild gusty ride there and back, excellent music - particularly fine to see Skipinnish playing in the Cooperage on Sunday.

Strange . . .

We were on Eigg Saturday/Sunday last week and did not see anything about this.

(We were not in the inner harbour though)
