Re: Anyone fancy a jaunt around Rockall?

Re: historical charts

Thanks Shard and Alan for the replies - i will give both links a view. There is something really relaxing about reading an old chart at your leisure ( with no impending life or death situation looming!!)

Re: Single Handed MOB

Can you deploy the transom ladder to have two rungs underwater whilst swimming or is it tied up out of reach ? These are cheap and simple "musts" which allow you to save yourself, rather than whistling for outside assistance with expensive gizmos. I have added a trailing line (with a foot...

Re: Warning - Back Up Your YotBlog, it may have to disappear . .

Hi Nick, I have spent a little while on wordpress putting a blog together, thankds to the suggestion you gave some time back. Wordpress does seem to be a much friendlier product with good online support. http://nigheandonn2.wordpress.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It seems to be...

Re: Christmas presents

A friend (Coribbee sailor) lent me that book recently. Excellent book well worth reading - moves along at a cracking pace. I thought the loss of the Endeavour could possibly have been avoided with clearer heads and better seamanship. The skipper did not come out so well out of the tale. Prior to rea...

Re: A Proposal

I intend putting a modest website together providing some info on Galway Bay and what it has to offer -I have it started and hopefully will populate it with a bit of interesting content over the next week or so - these dark evening with the rain lashing down outside are ideal ! Now that sounds like...
