Re: Cleit Rock

Whoopiedoo - its have a pop at Claymore time Shirley not. I thought that Cleit Rock already had a perch. It's the unseen " Claymore 's Rock " that needs a marker. It would be pretty hard to hit Cleit Rock, the bow wave around it seems to push you clear. Ash, says the veteran of only 3 tra...

Re: Jerryca sh

If you have a look around HGV fuel pumps, you will likely see discarded 20 litre square shaped plastic containers. They used to contain AdBlu. They might be a bit thin skinned for your purpose, but worth a look if you want cheap. Cheers Ash Apologies, after further thought, the capacity might be 10...

Re: Review of 2018

2018 was a good sailing year for us, we spent over 70 nights on board. Some of these nights were simply spent at our home berth, but that isn't a great hardship on a walk ashore pontoon in Tarbert, Loch Fyne. Our main summer break in July and August was 7 weeks long, but we left Kylora on a mooring ...

Re: Darren Taylor Yacht Repairs

Just had a look round Darrens WWW site, the listing for Chimera in the "for sale" bit, has a pic of an Ecume De Mer as the banner pic. The rest look like pics of Chimera. The Ecume, Silver Lining, used to be owned by a friend / work colleague. You met him on the pontoon at TV this summer....

I was organised enough to keep the bit of plastic straw in the cardboard box in beside the tube of blue grease, and use the same one year after year.

Think that that name is already taken.

I would suggest "Turul"

Congratulations on the new boat.

Re: We've bought another boat

Well done. This must be a win, win all round. A boat is being used as it should, the cadets get some cash, and you get a boat. I couldn't decipher the font used for her name, is it Amy J? You've gone to the other extreme with an example of only 70 built! I take it that the interiors are all unique i...

Re: How's your Summer going?

It's been a poor summer, though we have spent a lot of nights on board, but often in our home berth.

We're currently on a short cruise, and have " gone furrin " Currently in Glenarm. Got here via Campbelltown and Rathlin Island.

Re: How's your Summer going?

There were surprisingly few boats on the Clyde today. Weather was better than the forecast predicted. There were about 20 headed to Holy Loch for an SCS muster from a variety of starting points. Toward and Hunter's Quay were a bit lumpy. It was a beat all the way from Tarbert, Loch Fyne despite num...

We went through last summer, a lot less than F5 on the nose, but found the exit lumpy. Vega with 13.5 hp.

I haven't been on one either, but I've read a few reports, and your experience sounds about right. Were there also steep waves, a green spinnaker, and alcohol involved? That would clinch it.
