Re: Crinan Canal Closed

Disappointing news. Still nothing on the Scottish Canals web site earlier today to let us know when it may be open again but some information is there now.

Random thoughts

about time, navigation and stuff. But first, it was nice to put a face to Geoff of this Parrish when he appeared on reporting Scotland this evening talking about the effect of the Scottish budget. I haven't a clue what he was saying as the sound was off but I saw his name on the tape thingy they put...

Re: Mistral is sold

Stripper? Commode? What are youse all on? Actually we like to get out west in May or June in the long light nights and before the midgies and tourists arrive but the scottish excrement weather this year has persuaded us that we will cruise around the Clyde at this time. If we can get a forecast that...

Re: internet guru please.

I asked my soon about this a while ago as he is an I G and I was getting spam on Hotmail that was apparently coming from my Hotmail address. I had tried to block it but naturally got a failure message telling me that I could not block my own address. His advice was to just ignore it and it would go ...

More rugby

Something puzzled me about a refereeing decision (or lack of one) in the Italy Wales match. A kick into the Welsh 22 in the second half was cleared by a Welsh defender back into the area where a scrum had broken up, where it was handled by another Welsh player. The ball was then knocked forward by a...

Re: Rugby

I believe that a couple of weeks ago, Finn Russell was criticized for going for a positional kick to allow a try-scoring chance. It was intercepted by the opposition and nearly allowed them to score. Greg Laidlaw shrewdly took his time over the kick at goal so that there would be no chance of the Ir...

Re: Moody 346 "Kylora"

I liked one of the 346 Moodys that we saw last year on our hunt for a replacement for Wight Dawn. They look a lot sleeker than the Seahawk that we eventually bought. It all came down to internal space and asking price in the end.

Re: Good news and not-so-good news

As you say Derek, the logical time is never and I was one of the odd people who actually liked the "experiment" tried out by Harold Wilson's government in the 60's where the clock moved forward at the end of February and did not move back for about 3 years. There was a lot of moaning about...

Good news and not-so-good news

First the good news. The lovely sunset this afternoon was the earliest sunset this winter. So the afternoons start getting longer tomorrow. Not by a lot, but by the shortest day (on Wednesday next week) the sun will set over one minute later. The bad news is that it rises about 2 minutes later and t...

Re: PredictWind.com

No promises (I haven't been afflicted with that adware), but I've found this site to be fairly reliable. https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-hrn-babblingventricle-com/ Mike Thanks Flobbets, removal now complete. It was not a simple job. There are four stages, each requiring download of a different...

Re: PredictWind.com

I don't know, it happened when I tried to access that site and now I can't get rid of it. I have updated Windows 10, updated the Defender data and done a full scan but I keep getting prompt to allow pop-ups from whatever site I am looking at and whether I accept or decline a new tab opens with a sit...

Re: PredictWind.com

Won't load for me.

Even worse, since I tried to access it, a site called babblingventricle opens a new tab when I try to click on a hot spot in any web page.
